Wormillion keeps almost nothing, and nothing about you.

In your browser

Your best dive, your history, your streak and the comparison you last saw are stored in your browser’s local storage, under one key. They never leave it except as described below, and clearing your browser data removes them.

Analytics

The site uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read: it sets cookies and sends page views, your rough location and device type to Google. That is the only third-party code on the site, and it is not tied to anything you do in the game - your answers, score and history are never sent to it. Block it with any content blocker and everything still works.

The daily comparison

After a daily, the game sends the ten place names you answered (or a blank for a miss), the day, and a random identifier that your browser made up the first time you played. The server replays the answers, scores them, adds the result to that day’s totals and keeps the submission so the totals can be rebuilt. The identifier only stops one browser being counted twice; it is not linked to a name, an email, an address or anything else, and the server does not store your IP address or your time zone. There is no way to identify a person from what is stored, and nothing is ever shared or sold.

Hosting

The site runs on Cloudflare, which processes requests to serve it.
