How to read the numbers
Obscurity is where a place sits between the most-read article in its category (0%) and the least-read (100%), on a logarithmic scale of monthly views. Points is what the answer scores in a round: 75 at the famous end, a flat 1,425 for anything at 85% or more, and 1,500 for the single rarest place. A place’s obscurity is always measured against its whole category, whatever condition the prompt carried.
Knowing the list doesn’t make the game easy: most rounds carry a condition, and a daily is thirty seconds a round. But if you’ve ever wondered whether the Volga is a better answer than the Ob, here is the answer.
